The Dreamers, the movie

The movie with the million naked/sex scenes, I finally had time to see this movie; "the dreamers". I am happy I didnt have the chance to see this movie before, maybe I wouldnt have understood it then, the movie of the real taboos.

This movie is based on a book called, the holy innocents. it seems to be about anything but innocense. But in fact it is.

The movie is about three students, one french woman, her twin brother and an american exchange student whom they accept "to be one of them", the strange thing about this twin couple is that they seem to be intimate to some extent, they never had sex, but they are extremely sexually exposed to each other, if this has a meaning at all. The french brother and sister are active members in the youth revolutionary society, they seemed to take the lead in the french student rebillions in 1968. They also loved classical movies, which made the american student who have the same interest in movies "one of them". Anyway, he didnt seem to share them interests in revolutions, he thought the government knows always better.

The movie is full of sex and nudity (especially after the american student starts loving the french woman), to an extreme level, which maybe was meant, in a very nice way. In One scene that says all the movie (from my point of view) the three are gathered in the bathtub, and started smoking, for some reason, the american student starts talking about Vietnam, the french guy gets angry, and tells him he shouldnt be happy about the fact that americans are in Vietnam, then he asks the american student "what is your army doing there? why do you go there? are you happy about killing the people there?" the american student answers that if anyone refuses to go there and fight, he will be locked in jail. The revolution-loving french student shouts and says, "I would better stay in jail than agree to go kill innocent people".

Isnt this just lovely? the man who in our eyes makes the uglyest sins with his sister prefers to be locked in jail than go into an army with aims he doesnt believe in.

This left me thinking, what are the real sins? what are the real taboos? doing an ugly thing that may only hurt me and that is described as a sin, or doing something that may seem honoring in which I hurt and kill innocent people.

Did religions fail in clearing this point?

to sin or not to sin...now that is the question?

or is it is going for the smaller sin better than going for the bigger sin?
