Ramadan is about eating less, not eating more in less time:
I don’t know why some people think they can not live with less food, give your stomach a break, you have been filling it since ever, and if you eat more in less time then you are hurting your stomach. So just be gentle with your body.
Ramadan is about whispering to the soul, not shouting at everyone around.
People start to lose their nerves in Ramadan, If it is because of being a heavy smoker, then try quitting, smoking is just as “حرام ” as getting drunk, so what’s the point of fasting then? This is called “جوع كلاب ” literally.
If on the other hand the reason of losing nerves is the hot weather, then it is time to learn how to control yourself and nerves. This is the point of the whole thing; develop your (holy) self.
Ramadan means working as much as usual, not less.
If the economy of the country will drop because of fasting, then let Ramadan go to hell. Work is more important than proving you can stop eating these little hours.
And finally, No one should complain about seeing others eating in public, this is no ones problem, the country is not only for Muslims, and Muslim women have their days, so we should just mind our own business.
Make it a nice experience, develop your relation to your soul and teach it to be stronger, instead of making this month “جوع كلاب ”

Paulo Coelho and Murpyh's Law
“If anything can go wrong, then it will”…Murphy’s Law
Paulo Coelho wrote in his book, “Like the Flowing River” about the piece of bread that fell wrong side up. It is thought by some people that when there is a possibility for something to go wrong, then it does. So bread always falls on the floor on its buttered side.
In the story Coelho mentions, a man was eating his breakfast, so he prepares his bread by spreading the butter on one of its sides, suddenly the bread falls on the floor, he looks down and surprisingly the butter side is up. He thinks he witnessed a miracle, so he tells everybody about it.
The people start telling him that he may be a saint, that it was a sign from God. This accident then becomes the only discussion in the village. Since they couldn’t bring any answer for this miracle, they decide to go and ask the teacher of the village. There, he asks them for time to pray and ask for divine’s inspiration. The next day they come to him with eager for the answer. “It’s quite simple” says the teacher, “The fact is that the piece of bread fell exactly the way it should, but the butter had been spread on the wrong side”.
I was never a fan of this theory (not Law), I never believed in it because it somehow asks the human not to take the risk in anything, anyway I think it never applied to me; things go the way they are supposed to, sometimes right, sometimes wrong.
Coelho have tried here to show that people tend to think that they do not deserve good things, maybe because they are sinners, and this is somehow true for believers, when I make a sin (or a mistake) I start waiting for the punishment, but sometimes it comes, and sometimes it doesn’t. Anyway risks should be taken in this life, to make it move and change. If you are afraid of failure then here is a hint; spread the butter on the wrong side of the bread.

Finding Excuses
With the Olympics going on, I remembered how my people master one thing the best; finding excuses that is. I remember many times in the Equestrian-Jumping how our team used to blame the horses, who were tired (had a hot night before the big day), or sick, or couldn’t jump only that day.
This time our Swimming champion Mr. Hamada had difficulties because the water entered his swimming suit in the last 25 meters, so I wonder if it was the first time he uses such suit (they didn’t find his size), or if the water in china has bad intentions. No need to talk about the football team, whom all the forces of nature play against, poor team.
But no, it’s not only in sports, Study (Tawjihi) for example is another thing. If we fail in study then it’s also not our fault, the questions were not from the study material, they meant to make it hard, they; our mean examination system.
Why do other athletes admit that there were much better players when they fail, and other students admit that they didn’t study enough when they get unsatisfying results? Only we Jordanians are played against by all the forces, luck hates us. Why? Why would a swimmer say that water entered his suit?
