With the Olympics going on, I remembered how my people master one thing the best; finding excuses that is. I remember many times in the Equestrian-Jumping how our team used to blame the horses, who were tired (had a hot night before the big day), or sick, or couldn’t jump only that day.
This time our Swimming champion Mr. Hamada had difficulties because the water entered his swimming suit in the last 25 meters, so I wonder if it was the first time he uses such suit (they didn’t find his size), or if the water in china has bad intentions. No need to talk about the football team, whom all the forces of nature play against, poor team.
But no, it’s not only in sports, Study (Tawjihi) for example is another thing. If we fail in study then it’s also not our fault, the questions were not from the study material, they meant to make it hard, they; our mean examination system.
Why do other athletes admit that there were much better players when they fail, and other students admit that they didn’t study enough when they get unsatisfying results? Only we Jordanians are played against by all the forces, luck hates us. Why? Why would a swimmer say that water entered his suit?

really ?????!!!! did he say the water got in ? were they the new swimming suits ? because a lot of new records were recorded with those suits, they make you feel like a dolphin !! and its hard to get them on they take lots of time,so maybe he didn't get it on right in the 1st place .!
i see ur point tho,we love to find excuses ,نحن كائنات تبريريه
Two words:Attribution theory.
Simply because winners find solutions, overcome obstacles, and achieve results. Losers, well, they find excuses!
I doubt it's only Jordanians though.
Very good......
NasEr,
Ya this comment was published in Al Rai newspaper, I think he had to be more prepared, suit-wise and commenting-wise.
Mohanned, the phrase is new for me, thanks for it, but from what i understood (its online explenation) it is bit different than what I see here, its part of it, but what i complain about is that I see our community putting the blame on everything but themselves.
Qwaider,
Your right, but through watching this and other championships, I have found this thing concentrated in our teams, (maybe gulf also). When the Germans lost the last eurocup many of them (team players) said that they deserved it, No excuses were searched for. this is the first step to be able to solve any problem, find the real reason for losing and try to solve it.
Mohanned, Correction,
you are right, after reading more, it is called specifically the External Attribution Theory. Happy to learn about it, outside my range of knowledge but very interesting, so thanks.
