Blog about Palestine

I will shut up, I will give no tears, I may open the TV and watch their celebration, they worked hard and fought for a land, a land they were promised to get one day, in their holy book, and holy books do not lie, do they?

I am sorry grandma, I promised your last wish will come true, to be buried there in the “Hakoora” (حاكورة) near the spring (ترعة) that used to bring water to your rabbits and ducks, I don’t have the key anymore grandma, a good guy came with a British gun and said he will take care of your house grandma. Holy books do not lie grandma, do they?

I said I may watch their celebrations, as my life is full of stress and I need something to bring me joy. I need to see someone who have fought for his land and won, I need to see someone who have worked and fought for what is written in holy book, because I have a land I need to fight for. I will watch their celebration to learn how to fight, to see the results of fighting for a land, because I lost a land, and need some lessons in getting it back.

I swear I love the peace; maybe this is why I am still, still like an old tall tree, but not as tall, and not strong, just as still. Time has it effect on every single creature on this earth but me, I am still, still as nothing else the only sense I have is “eyes”, with it I am looking at those who got their promise from the holy book, knowing that holy books do not lie, do they?

A friend told me once about his experience in fighting, He is a writer, he writes for Palestine, ONLY, he thinks that his pen is his rifle. He said, he went once to Greece (whom had to fight for their land that was invaded by turkey) and someone asked him where he is from, my friend said that he is Palestinian, the guy asked him what is he doing there in Greece when his land is taken, he said he is fighting for it, with the pen. The Greek guy looked at him and said, “Stick this pen in your ass, lands are only fought for by guns”

Thank you for this very nice post.

Your last paragraph leaves me wondering: Are lands only fought for with guns? What is to be done when the guns are rusty?

I think to bring back a lost piece of land, you have to change the mentality and behavior of those who lost it. You have to teach them, educate them, have them versed in the ways of this new age of ours. Much of battles are now fought in pictures and words. Media my friend is a new frontier. So, maybe now the pen is indeed needed.

Hmm .. i don't know. You just leave me wondering.

Nice post.

Thank you Za3tar for initiating this BAPD. I am not wondering less, what you said about education and mentality is very true, and is the main base to start from. Media is so important, and pens are the same, but the gun's roll should (maybe) walk in a parallel direction, specially when all become blind and deaf when its our case. Also the gun should know whom to target.

its really sad that land is won on the basis who got the bigger guns...its sad that the world has come to that ....
